Zonely Rent, Inc. ("Zonely Rent," "we," "us," or "our") operates the Zonely Rent platform β a property management SaaS solution available at zonely-rent.vercel.app and associated mobile or desktop applications (collectively, the "Service").
This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service, including all features available to property managers, tenants, and other authorized users. By accessing or using the Service, you consent to the practices described in this policy.
This policy applies to all users of the Service, including property managers who subscribe to our platform ("Property Managers") and tenants who interact with the Service through their manager's account ("Tenants").
Information We Collect
1.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect:
- Full name and email address
- Password (stored as a hashed, salted value β never in plain text)
- Role designation (Property Manager or Tenant)
- Profile photo (optional)
- Phone number (optional)
1.2 Company & Property Information
Property Managers may provide:
- Company name, address, phone number, and website
- Property addresses, unit counts, and descriptions
- Lease terms, rent amounts, and due dates
- Tenant contact information added to the platform
1.3 Payment & Financial Information
We use Stripe to process all payments. We do not store full credit card numbers, CVV codes, or bank account numbers on our servers. Stripe securely handles and stores all sensitive payment data. We do store:
- Stripe Customer IDs and Payment Method IDs (tokenized references)
- Payment amounts, dates, and statuses
- Transaction history and receipt URLs
- Autopay enrollment status
- Stripe Connect account IDs (for Property Managers receiving payouts)
1.4 Usage & Technical Data
- IP address and approximate geographic location
- Browser type, version, and operating system
- Pages visited, features used, and time spent
- Referring URLs and navigation paths
- Error logs and diagnostic data
- Device identifiers
1.5 Communications
- Messages sent between Property Managers and Tenants via the platform
- Maintenance request descriptions, photos, and status updates
- Notification preferences and email opt-in/out status
1.6 Document Data
- Lease agreements and signed documents (via DocuSign integration)
- PDF files uploaded or generated within the platform
- Template configurations created by Property Managers
How We Use Your Data

- Charge the $29.99/month platform subscription fee
- Manage your 7-day free trial and subscription lifecycle
- Apply and collect the platform fee (4.4% + $0.30) on rent transactions
- Issue receipts and payment confirmations
2.3 Communications
- Send transactional emails (payment confirmations, lease updates, maintenance alerts)
- Deliver platform notifications based on your preferences
- Respond to support inquiries and feedback
- Send security alerts (password changes, new login activity)
2.4 Safety, Security & Compliance
- Detect, prevent, and investigate fraud or abuse
- Enforce our Terms of Service and legal obligations
- Comply with applicable laws, court orders, and regulatory requirements
- Protect the rights and safety of users and the public
2.5 Product Improvement
- Analyze usage patterns to improve features and UX
- Monitor platform performance and uptime
- Conduct internal research and analytics
- Test new features and functionality
Third-Party Services
Our Service integrates with the following third-party platforms. Their use of your data is governed by their own privacy policies:
Handles all credit card processing, saved payment methods (autopay), and direct payouts to property managers via Stripe Connect. Stripe is PCI-DSS Level 1 compliant.
Stores user accounts, lease data, payment records, and uploaded documents. Firebase Auth handles secure authentication. Cloud Storage holds generated PDFs.
Manages the signing workflow for lease agreements. DocuSign stores signed envelope data and audit trails for legal compliance.
Hosts and serves the Zonely Rent web application. Vercel may log request metadata (IP, user agent) for performance and security purposes.
Data Security
We implement industry-standard technical and organizational security measures to protect your information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Service and fulfill the purposes outlined in this policy, unless a longer retention period is required by law.
